The Windsurfer One Design, the original windsurfer, is still the most popular racing board in Australia.  There are active One Design racers in Queensland and Lake Macquarie; Narrabeen, Manly, Middle Harbour, and Dobroyd in Sydney; Parkdale and Sorrento on Port Phillip Bay; and Hobart.  New boards are also being exported to the USA and Italy.

Windsurfer sailors range from kids sailing in the "Junior One" division with small sails, all the way to members of the current Olympic team.  And at just $1700, fully equipped and ready to go, there's no cheaper way to get on the water.
